Hanbali School: The Hanbali school, similarly cautious in matters of doubt (shubha), affirms the halal status of all fruits including lemon. As with the Shafi'i position, Hanbali scholars would recommend verifying that no haram or mushbooh processing aids (e.g. shellac-based coatings, enzyme-based processing aids of unclear animal origin) have come into contact with the lemon pulp during industrial extraction. The raw ingredient is not in question.

1. The ingredient itself is clear: Pure lemon pulp — the inner flesh and juice vesicles of the lemon — is HALAL with no scholarly dispute across any school.
